ST Vishwa Rath

An Exhibition showcasing the evolution of MSRTC on a MSRTC Bus.

Indian Railways conduct their mobile exhibition which is done inside a train, by which they can reach to a lot of people by keeping their exhibition intact and this gave us the idea for ST Vishwa Rath. The Cabinet Minister of Transport of Maharashtra Government took interest in the idea of mobile ST Vishwa and instructed MSRTC officials to provide a special bus for this exhibition.

In the September of 2016, on the auspicious event of Ganpati Festival, the first ever ST Vishwa Rath was inaugurated at Mumbai Central at the headquarters of MSRTC by Shri. Diwakar Raote.

In Ganpati festival, ST Vishwa Rath was displayed at bus stands in Mumbai and after that this was also brought to bus stands of districts like Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Pune and Thane where people gave tremendous response to this mobile exhibition.

The exhibition bus was stationed at a bus stand for a whole day and we provided each and every information regarding MSRTC to the people there. We also received great response from school students. Daily around 4000 to 5000 school students visited ST Vishwa Rath and took a tour of the unknown world of MSRTC. Many students also made project reports on MSRTC.

ST Vishwa Rath was also displayed at many other religious gatherings, Arts Festival, Swagat yatra/Shobha yatra due to which more and more people got to know about the unknown history of MSRTC. In future, there are plans to make an Air Conditioned ST Vishwa Rath which will be brought to each and every bus stand in Maharashtra.

In India, ST Vishwa Rath is the first mobile exhibition ever being made by any State Transport Body, which showcases the history of a specific public transportation system.
